The sad thing is that there are so few WRC cars in this era that Greensmith is a gentleman driver and after a slow stage time is still 7th overall...

First stage of the 2021 @OfficialWRC
    season is done!

Unfortunately we felt no power after 5km which affects the stage time, but hopefully it'll be okay for SS2

And Suinen was driving like that, and a few corners from winning the stage. Small margins. But it's hardly a surpise Suninen crashes in Monte - he has done for numerous years.
Perhaps Formaux would have been a better choice here.

I wonder who pays the repair bills in this situation. If it's M-Sport this is where taking pay drivers looks like not such a good idea.

Just because Greensmith pays doesn't make him a 'gentleman driver'.

He's still young and has been in rally for years going through all the classes. He has some talent, otherwise how did he win the R5 class at Rally Monte Carlo 2019: https://www.ewrc-results.com/final/5...-2019/?ct=1018

The vitriol aimed at him because he pays is just not fair and not necessary. I cant see the same being given to Katsuta or Loubet. Gus is not doing any harm and we should be glad he is bringing money into the sport.

Would you be saying the same if he were driving an i20?

MSport have been on wrong course since more than a year now. If you don´t charge you loose slowly by time and now, see where they are. It´s sad. But they have done many wrong decisions lately, I believe.
