David Prophet - Lotus-Maserati 24
Hi i'm interested in Formula 1´s "Return of the Power" of 1966.
South Africa, ahead like in 1960, switched in mid-1965 to 3 litre.
My question is about Hong Kong born british driver David Prophet.
In the beginning of 1965 he drove his white "long-stroke Formula Junior" Brabham, being replaced at mid-season by a Lotus 24 with unknown chassis number and colour. Historic simracing shows the car as blue, but I´m not sure if I cannot trust them. I once saw a photo in pale orange. The engine was discribed as a to 2.8 outbored 1960 2.5 litre formula 1 Maserati, despite the then used 4-cyl., which fit into the Cooper chassis, was a devirate of the 2 litre T60 respectively 3 litre(2890 cc) T61 sports car unit.*Last edited by rodeos; 18th April 2020 at 00:22. Hi Rodeos, I cant help you directly.. but you should maybe try contacting his daughter Jane via the Autosport forum. A good while back (2006-7) she was trying to build a web page dedicated to her fathers racing career.
See https://forums.autosport.com/topic/8...ophet-website/
Good luck.

Yes I fear so too, you just need to look at the new cost for tourists to get into Venice and when everyone sees the amount of money being made others will soon follow, and prices will go up. As...
