Spoke with the Japanese journalist who wrote the original article. It was based on rumors but it won't come to fruition with Subaru not moving forward with returning and their relationship with Prodrive not so good.

That’s interesting once autosport.pt used rallye-magazin.de info which supposedly was based on a polish site, although no one is able to cite the original (japanese?) article, if actually there’s one…

Fingers still crossed for Subaru return!

Today the government announced the cancelation of all international events for a month, because the coronavirus. Some activities like the international motocross at Villa La Angostura was cancelled, and MotoGP was reschedulled to november.

This gap of time ends just the week before the Rally Argentina, so I don't know how all this could end.

Argentina has announced it will decide tomorrow whether it cancels the event or not. It's not an option to run the event with no audience.
