It's not free to keep the transmitter aeroplane in the air or all the other machinery working, or someone operating the equipment, people speaking and interviewing the drivers.

Have you been on a shakedown yourself? Those who had know what to expect.
Yes. It was a lot of waiting, and not being able to expect who comes and when.

Forecasts giving dry and small plus temperatures for tonight. In recce pics SS1 was fairly dry and SS2 quite snowy. There should be some rain early Friday morning, possibly still during the first stages with temperatures on both sides of zero.

Found some information about the conditions on a french website. It dates from yesterday, so maybe not 100% up to date:

    Thursday:
    SS1: completely dry
SS2: dry for 8km, then some humidity, snow and ice for the final 5km

    Friday:
SS3/6: mixed dry and ice under the trees. Some patches of ice also near the finish
SS4/7:99% dry as most of the stage is in the sun
    SS5/8: 60-70% dry, some ice

    Saturday
SS9/11: patches of ice for first 5-6km. Than completly snow and ice untill 4km from the end.
SS10/12: some ice with dry tracks in the first 5km. Dry descent afterwards. Compact snow and ice for the last 3,5km.

    Sunday:
SS13/15: dry for the first 8km. Some humidity and patches of ice afterwards untill the top of the Col de Turini. Ice and snow on the descent.
SS14/16: dry with just a few corners with ice.

If anyone has a more recent one, please post I can translate from french if necessary

Today the rally cars are transported on trucks from Gap to Monaco for the ceremonial start.

SS2 tonight will be the really interesting one...

    Loeb:
Stage two was really tricky in the recce. I don’t know how [much] it will be melting. There will be some ice parts, maybe tyre choice will be the first issue.
