To be honest, I don't see the connection. It's not as if Chris is a 'local' driver....And there's next to no chance of a mainland ERC round.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

Well no, but Chris is British which many in NI find pretty important to their identity.

There is also be the fact that NI are trying to be the new location for Rally GB and running a round of ERC here could be a good chance to show they are ready for it.

Rachele Somaschini (Italy) is also trying to find the budget to compete on the ERC next year...
She's not competitive, but that's not their main goal, the goal is to get their message to the most people as possible

The former BKR2 winner of SPAIN, catalan driver Pep Bassas Jr. will compete in FIAERC next year under Junior ERC3 regulations.

Bassas' father, whose name is also Pep, was a tremendous driver in Spain. Famous for his priceless driving of a BMW M3 E30. He was spanish rally champion in '89 among all the titles he conquered...
