This guy is lucky. Just 3 years after he started rallying and he's already competing in the European Championship with an R5 car...

He is definitely lucky (having the money and service etc.), but last year he proved he can handle the R5 (Rally2) car, so it is about time to switch to higher tier. No doubt about that.
Visit South Moravia. It is the real paradise

He's just done an interview and his 2020 plans are still not sorted.

Toksport will help him do another season in ERC but Chris is hoping to get budget for some WRC3 events.

I do think Chris could benefit as a driver by doing another season in ERC, especially as it looks like the competition will be stronger this year.

My bet would be that he will start in Azores.

He was talking about biding his time and doing more learning in the ERC and maybe hoping there will more teams/ seats in WRC when it goes hybrid in 2022.

But it seems funding will decide if he can make WRC3 this year.

Sounds pretty tough.. it was a struggle to complete ERC last year and WRC is more expensive.

The president of the club that organizes the Azores Rally said on a national radio that Niki Mayr-Melnhof is registered in the first ERC event. Does anyone know what the pilot program for 2020?
