I wonder how the ERC and its drivers will react to their events being converted to WRC events. Will they accept the bigger picture and being overshadowed for the good of rallying ?

Well WRC is by definition the World Championship and therefore does the biggest job in promoting the sport.

If it doesnt run for the rest of 2020 the image and profile of the sport will take a huge hit.

BTW, I just had a virtual chat with Chris Ingram and he's all for the WRC using the ERC rallies for the rest of the year.

It would also suit him as he can compete and show his speed in these events against the WRC2/3 driver's at the same time.

However, he is still hunting for support. He isnt getting any from Skoda despite winning the ERC in their car last year. He is considering switching to a team with a C3 R5 or Fiesta R5 Mk2 if they will give him some assistance.

“The most important thing is to start driving again. When everything stops we’re losing the momentum, the sponsor is losing a bit the momentum... so it’s better to start the show and attract everyone back. I’m the intention is to drive, be on the spot and have fun.”
