Ah OK, so do competitors have to register for the whole championship then? Instead of doing a few rallies at their leisure...

No, but I assume the costs of entry are higher on BRC events than smaller local ones.

    BRC1 driver registration fee = £900
BTRDA driver registration fee = £80

There's the BRC National Championship for non-homologated cars but even here the driver registration fee is £350.

Well they've assembled a new media team.......whether they'll have anything interesting to report on is another matter.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

    Happy to hear this...

NEWS: Proton makes British Rally Championship return with Iriz R5

Malaysian car manufacturer Proton will return to Britain’s premier rallying series with Ollie Mellors contesting the BRC in a Proton Iriz R5.

I hope that would lead to more factory teams dabbling in the BRC... but I know that won’t happen. If next year the championship had more forest rounds I’d like to see Kris Meeke develop the rumoured Yaris Rally2 for TMR over here!

Factory teams don't care about such Championships. National importers they do. Look at Belgium. Citroën Belux, Skoda Be, Hyundai Belux are all investing..!
