Hi, does anybody knows what is the crashing ratio in rallies? I mean what percentage of racing cars crash.

That's quite an odd question and very difficult to answer. First of all you have to define what do you consider to be a crash. Is broken wishbone from an off a crash? Is pierced radiator from an off a crash? Second issue is that since super rally, i.e. possibility to restart, was introduced it's impossible to make such statistic without following each event closely yourself and even that may not be enough because most likely you won't be able to find out the reason of retirement for many crews from down the field. The third thing is that it's very different from one event to another or from one championship to another. The fourth point is weather. The very same event may be relatively easy when dry but a crash galore when wet. The best example for the weather dependancy is Rallye Monte Carlo. When it is dry (like 2008 for example) you don't have many crashes but when it's icy and snowy you have someone going off in literally every kilometer of the event.

What is quantifiable is DNF % regardless of reason for DNF.
Finishes will include some events where a crash or mechanical occurred early in rally but driver finished under rally 2 regulations>
Current driver DNF% from all their starts in WRC events

    7.7 % Teemu Suninen 4/52
    9.5 % Seb Ogier 14/148

    11.1 % Mads Ostberg 14/126
    12.4 % Seb Loeb 22/177
    12.8 % Thierry Neuville 14/109
    13.3 % Dani Sordo 22/166
    13.8 % Hayden Paddon 11/80
    14.5 % Jari-Matti Latvala 30/207

    17.4 % Andreas Mikkelsen 19/109
    17.5 % Ott Tanak 18/103
    17.9 % Elfyn Evans 15/84
    18.9 % Esapekka Lappi 10/53

    26.3 % Gus Greensmith 10/38
    28.3 % Craig Breen 17/60
    33.3 % Kris Meeke 34/102

As Mirek said there are so many different circumstances we should not draw any conclusions from a data set like this.
In terms of Greeekman's original question, there is no typical

For the 2017 season I counted the driving mistakes and made a points table, but then again it might not be 100% complete and some occasions are subject to interpretation.

In addition to the mentioned issues in last two years tems also started retiring cars in last service if they don't score points as a loophole so that they can use more replacement parts.
Hyundai did it two times this year (Loeb in Portugal, Mikkelsen in Mexico), Citroen did it multiple times with Breen in 2017-2018.

Off topic and outdated but you have some obvious errors in the table.

Thank you all for your answers. My question was regardless of drivers and weather and any other circumstances (animals, tractors etc) what is the average percentage of crashes (hitting something you shouldn't and some damage occurred).
I added the percentages of the 15 drivers showed above and i divide them and i got 17%. That looks logical i think. Thank you.
