RIP Niki
Rest in peace Niki Lauda.
What an amazing career on and off the track, that will be hard to match.
I remember Lauda's interview on ZDF the night before the Nurburg ring crash.
Luckily he survived for a 2nd career.

Wow, the toughest F1 driver to ever race. I thought he would live a thousand years that man.
Rest in Peace Niki, you would always be rememberedBetter a witty fool than a foolish wit.

His work to improve the V6's sound was an amazing contribution to F1. He made them sound distinctly lauda.
Seriously, though, it's a shame to see him go. He was a legend and, perhaps more importantly, always someone to speak his mind, which will be sorely missed in the world of politics that is F1. He was a truly unique character and I'm sure everyone in the paddock would have wanted him to stay on for much longer.Last edited by N4D13; 21st May 2019 at 12:32. Reason: Duplicate

It's sad when a larger than life legend goes, specially well before his time.

He was the first Formula One driver that I ever followed and was a fan of.
Strange, though I now understand that it happens to everyone, but all of my heroes are becoming ghosts.

This photo is from Daytona International Speedway in the late 60s or early 70s. Can any of you racing history buffs tell me whose car is in the picture? Thanks. Jim C
