Williams Dumps Lowe- Garden leave
The official statement is Lowe is on Garden Leave for personal reasons. But leading racing journalist see it as an informal sacking. If it is indeed a sacking, it would seem Williams just seem to be going from one bad decision to another. Sacking a technical chief just before the start of a racing season seem like a kneejerk reaction. Which may suggest the problem is further up the chain of command.
Lowe's booting may also suggest that the delay was as a result of operational failings in the Williams winter preparation. This would certainly have a very serious damage to Lowe's previously illustrious reputation. But more importantly, the sacking of Lowe would make Williams the least attractive employer on the F1 paddock. Quality talents would see Williams as the kryptonite to careers.
I think Lowe did not help matters by giving unrealistic expectations of turning things around quickly. He clearly needed more time and half the problem is probably above his pay grade. It would need a very brave candidate to step up to fill Lowe's shoes. I hope they have such a person within Williams to do a Binotto for Williams.
Two interlinked questions then emanates; where to from here for Williams and Lowe?Last edited by Nitrodaze; 8th March 2019 at 16:57.

Saw the news yesterday. The timing is, at best, suspicious.

Another dire weekend for Williams at Bahrain. The sh*tshow continues, but now, it appears co-founder Patrick Head has been pulled in. In what capacity remains unclear. But being a co-founder and shareholder of Williams, l would think we would wade in to see what the problem was and manage the recovery process or at least help Williams set a strategy for recovery.
If Williams was a company with a board of directors consisting of at least three people, l would think Clare Williams would have been shown the door by now. That said, it is a family run business, but FoR the sake of saving the integrity of an illustrious team like Williams, someone else such as Patrick Head should be taking over the reigns to steer the team back to competitiveness. Anything other than this sort of approach would be counter-productive to the team.Better a witty fool than a foolish wit.
