- I was questioning the "very expensive" part. I dunno how the mouse is applied but I would assume you could attach it to the rim in some way (instead of the tire, or something similar with the same function). So their "use" will be on the order 10-15 per car/rally. With 400 euro per piece that is 6 000 euro which does not look expensive at all to me for WRC cars. Even if you attach one to each tire that is mounted on the car its about 30 tires/car = 12 000 euro. But this is just my quick assumptions which is why I write them here to get some feedback of people with more accurate figures.
- "Private teams" is kind of void if it's only allowed for "factory" WRC teams, only the likes of Suninen and Tideman were somehow "private" recently. But if the above listed price figures are anywhere near correct it doesn't look like a massive expense.
- Cutting and road degradation is a valid concern, how about allowing their use only on gravel roads (drivers cut there anywhere they can anyway).
- Speed increase (looking at avg. speed over stage, which is what FIA does) will be imo negligible (< 1 km/h)Last edited by mknight; 31st March 2019 at 08:11.
Yesterday Chris Ingram posted he was doing a 'shakedown' of the Polo R5 so it seems he's continuing in that car for the Jim Clark. I don't know if its because the 2nd Yaris hasn't arrived yet at...
