Oh , no , Ocon .
Well , if you're Esteban , you can't be happy now , as Otmar has just said that guy that everybody says is just an overrated pay driver because his daddy owns the team is as fast as he was .

Baggy, you are under-rating Lance. Lance has achieved podium positions and Ocon has not. Not surprising that Lance can match Ocon's pace.
Better a witty fool than a foolish wit.

I wouldn't read anything into Szafnauer's comments. He's just got a new driver into his team and he's talking highly of him, as he would of anybody else. So that's something you really need to take with a pinch of salt.

So lets assume he is that good. Good enough to potentially win the drivers title. Suppose Red Bull or Ferrari or Mercedes come calling. Does he move from daddy's team to have a chance at a title? Does daddy have all of Racing Point running rear gunner for him after he moves?
I don't think we realistically need to worry about this, but it is disturbing to think about.

That should make him really attractive to the front runners .
Good idea .

Good for Lance - not so good for the sport.

No , not really good for Lance .
I was kidding .
I think it's important to note that Lawrence Stroll is but one of the many investors , and I seriously doubt that they all entered into the game just because their friend's kid is a driver .
Having him being reasonably good , or maybe better is just a bonus .
They'll all be looking to make money on the deal .
Collusion between teams isn't new , and theoretically could happen if he were to end up at Merc with Force Racing Point running Merc motors , but that's a long way down the conspiracy road , not to mention that FCK(Force Canadian Kid) would have to be running pretty close to the front to even make it remotely worth it to hire him on that alone .
All due respect , but thinking about that this early is "tin foil hat" stuff .

Ocon is an aggressive plodder. His time at MB will validate Bottas.
Keith Cronin just took a huge 18.2 sec out of both Devine & Edwards on SS4 ! Edwards says that's mental and Keith is a special talent.
