Article also says that while there is funding from Wales for the next few years, from 2020 the rally could start to move around the UK.

I find that second bit hard to believe if I'm honest. But let's see.
Yes, it does seem hard to believe. However, whilst the event has turned a corner, and is a success - let's be blunt, it's still pretty much invisible. If the organisers want to attract more people to the sport ( and gain greater exposure for associated sponsors, etc) , then they need to move the event around the country. It's not exactly rocket science. Where the sponsorship/ funding comes from is another matter.

And Fast Eddie is right; a stage in Liverpool could be great. This year has seen RedBull Drifters which pulled in a massive crowd - and this weekend' The Giants', which brought the city to a standstill (so I'm told, I was at RallyGB). Back in 1986 on the RAC, there was an overnight halt at the Albert Dock.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

Clocaenog is the exception being the most easterly of the forest stages.

Looks like some changes are going to happen. Freshen it up a bit. https://www.autosport.com/wrc/news/1...lly-gb-in-2019

Well, with all the help from some members here my son and his friends had a fantastic weekend. Saw 2 stages on Friday, 3 on Saturday and 2 on the Sunday along with a visit to the SP. Could not believe the speed of the cars and crews. They only used the official spectator areas twice and managed to hike and climb across fields and hill sides to catch the other stages. On some stages they were the only ones to be seen. An app on his phone showed that they had walked 40 kms (26 miles) over the weekend (oh to be young again...).
So again, thanks for the help, it made a massive difference and he's already talking about Germany/Finland along with RGB again next year.

Anyone seen the weather in Wales at present? I wonder what would have happened if the rally had been this weekend..
