True, no stages or roads shared between that and this year

Apart from the big Meeke story in MN today - it also says that the service park for GB will likely be moved to Llandudno next year, with an opening spectator stage and start earmarked for either Liverpool or Manchester. Really taking the rally to the people.

Article also says that while there is funding from Wales for the next few years, from 2020 the rally could start to move around the UK.

I find that second bit hard to believe if I'm honest. But let's see.

After the long liaison (103km) back to the SP on Friday lunchtime I'm not surprised they are considering moving the SP nearer to the stages.

A street stage in Liverpool would be mega... the people turn out in huge numbers for any event there.

Car crime far is worse in many other cities - Liverpool isnt even in the worst 10.

Dated reference, like the unemployment chants from football fans.

It's also one of the safest cities in Britain and one of the biggest tourist attractions.

Of course it depends on which stages they are running. Llandudno is further from Clocaenog, for instance, than Deeside, but closer to Slate Mountain.

Sense of humour is also considerably lower than in other cities

I enjoy the R5s too - you've only to watch some of the vids linked from this thread to see how sideways and spectacular they can be - yeah ok, the noise is a bit feeble compared to a WRC or a screaming S2000, but they're still proper bits of kit.
Fully agree with your appraisal of both the current WRCars and the R5's.

Loved the way that the drivers were setting up the WRCars for some of the tighter corner - and the speeds they were doing that at - the current cars are not only quick, but they are really moving around as well. I was very much against the switch to 1.6L in WRC, but each iteration of the 1.6L cars has, in my opinion, seen the cars getting increasingly spectacular.
    "If in doubt... flat out!"
