FIA said it month or two ago.

I think it's correct. Originally it was to make sure that there are cars to watch on saturday/sunday, but these days it's usually not a problem + you have people going for PS.
Right now on cleaning gravel rallies you can have those that cleaned on Friday and loose time due to that then have to clean again on Saturday and Sunday.

Damn, I am getting old and/or demented. Yes, I've already saved that rule change to database but didn't remember it myself. Ashamed...

they have feel it plenty of times.
Neuville was leading at Turkey, suspension collapsed, and while he had 36 points gap from Tanak went to 13 points

What are you on mate? In Neuvilles case his title chances dropped from very good to still good (didn't even lose the lead). In Tänaks case they went from promising to non existant, feels even worse coming off his momentum after those 3 wins.

Non-existent? You must be on something...

Neuville also had similar situation last year in both Germany and Spain (twice actually in Spain (friday engine issue and then sunday suspension).

So while indeed terrible for Tanak similar situations do happen quite a lot and very hard to beat Sainz issue on that.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Last year it was Hyundai and the suspension issues, this year it is Toyota and sump guards.

Likely it is down to homologation regulations and that's why they can't immediately rectify the situation.

It would be non-existant, when there would be a gap bigger than 30 points, but it isn`t...and there are still two rallies ahead.
