Probably built in the olden days when it didn't cost £3million to lay 50 yards of tarmac.

Why not? It's only 8 km long stage after all. There's likely more overall asphalt distance on some other gravel events than that.

Finished in 1878 it seems and one of Uk's longest toll roads at only 6.4km, lucky bastards!

Why not? Bcs gravelrallies should be on gravel and vice versa. At least not tarmac on the day everything shall be decided.

And to connect two gravelroads it´s ok to have a few hundred meters of gravel, but this one´s only for PR.

    Funny similarity:

In Turkey the 4th fastest driver won when all 3 ahead hit trouble, out of these only Ogiers' off was clear driver error
Here Latvala as 4th fastest driver (over 3 days) is fighting for win, again only one of these (Neuville) lost due to clear driver error

Some info on the Great Orme road:

It leads to Llandudno from the other side of the Orme, its not a loop.

    It's been there for decades.

It has been used as a rally stage many; many times on local events and RAC Rally.

I think if you are going to have spectator stages then make them beautiful to watch and a challenge to the drivers. This is both and so much better than that terrible Tir Prince.
