Because of humidity, some stages will not be dry even without snow or rain, at least till noon.
Actually those conditions could be very nasty, so don't give up on the chalanging Monte.

Were those 'amateur photos' taken out a car window with a phone? To be honest the difference between amateurs and pros is really not as clear as those images suggest - I've seen plenty of photos from good amateurs better than many pros, and plenty of boring unimaginative photos from pros too.
What the pros tend to be better at is consistency, but because they're relying on it to earn a living they often take less artistic risks (for example using faster shutter speeds to make sure the image is sharp, but losing the sense of movement and speed because of that) and don't try new things.

The amateur replies - for example the latter picture was done so that my friend stoppes the car after that place on the first bit wider place, I ran back downhill, took the picture with my phone and ran back to the car. Right after the stage was finished I tweet out the picture without any postproduction to give initial feelings how it looked on the stage right at that time.

Teemu's photos give more information on the road surface and conditions, whereas the World pictures are more "artistic".

I don't want to despise any work you do. I really open for myself how same places can look completely different. And how pro's can do more likable picture, I know they have way better camera, a lot more photographing experience, they out in stages to do first of all - good pictures. It's uncomparable of course. But in the end same places looks different. I'm not pushing you, or any other rally enthusiast who making stage photos and posting it on twitter, you do very good job, I'm just wondering to pro photographers who make superb pictures from all of that.

Studs forbidden in France for every normal car too? even if it's mountain area and have a lot of snow and ice?
If he was still competing full time, I wonder which would be top of his moaning list: - Road order - Points system
