Tänak clearly too strong for competition, he knew what he was doing. We didn't see any big or very sideways moment from him, just neat and tidy driving, but super fast. Behind him a very nice battle, strong performance from nearly all works WRC drivers. Only disappointment for me was Pontus Tidemand, I expected him to be a bit closer to the top. The R5 category was also very interesting to watch. Shame that it's splitted up in WRC2Pro and WRC2, it doesn't add a real value (so far). Actually now Ostberg won WRC2Pro but has very little to celebrate, as he didn't win the R5 category... Top performance from Veiby, also the Polo R5 looks more entertaining than the Fabia R5. Also I'd like to mention the new Fiesta R2, really entertaining car to see, especially with the level of current junior drivers.

so you did not cancel your trip over the predictions...

And as usual very mediocre photos... no trees, no fires, no excessive Photoshop and elements... only cars and action, its like you are going to rallies to see the rally... you will never be a pro.

    sorry.

At this stage of the season drivers championship points are completely meaningless. It takes only 2 gravel rallies to neutralize point difference difference between Tänak and Ogier (if we assume equal performance level). At that point of season Ogier or Tänak could have zero points and to have equal chance for championship than if other would have 47 points. Big road position advantage in 8-10 rallies equals 47 points.

WRC should change point system because current level of competition is so tight that articial intervention to competition is not needed.

You don´t understand how much road position makesw difference in gravel rallies.

When you are third on the road you loose to the leader at least 30 seconds in rally distance on average gravel rally.

When you are second you loose around 20 seconds given similar performance.

So basically during a season Tänak looses to Ogier 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 20 +20 + 20 + 20. Maybe in 1-3 rallies conditions will be neutral or bit other way around due to rain or special conditions.

This means that given equal performance Ogier should win Tänak 6-2 in remaining rallies. You can do math whether this advantage is more than their current difference in points.

Tänak and Toytota might be fracturally faster combo than Ogier and Toyota (however, we need to see more rallies to settle this) In Mexico Ogier is favourite because it might be bogus rally to toyota. Citroen and Ogier, on the other hand, have been very good in Mexico. And Ogier have remarkable road position advantage.

It`s not a written rule, Neuville won Argentina when going first, Tänak led Wales GB after going second and these are just few examples of several. How did Ogier grab his previous titles before, when he had to clean the road on two days in a row no matter what his place was?

E: It wasn`t Argentina, maybe it was Sardegna...and was leading Turkey also.
