Clearly the SS has become a little quicker the more cars drive there, Berglund is normally not as fast as Kristoffersson and certainly not up amongst Rovanperä/Solberg. That makes Pietarinens run so much more impressive.
The Lindholm/Veiby/Bergkvist times also prove it.

Veiby said on twitter he drove in safe mode. Gryazin said he had a really bad feeling on the stage.

Well, then there are WRC cars proving the opposite again. But yeah, it was more about being wreckless that brought you the best time in these rough conditions.

Well naah, Grönholm/Loeb shouldn't be anywhere close to Neuville/Ogier. Huttunen quicker than Tidemand/Evans? Not likely. It still proves that it is faster now than earlier.
But ok, with the wrecklessness you have a point.

What's the excuse for Pietarinen then?

Nope. Doing JWRC this year and two races in ERC on R5 as a prize drive from last year U23 win.

Really challenging to compare times between first WRC2 cars and cars after WRC.
Neuville did solid run, however today he did benefit from road position. After tomorrow he and Ogier will be quite far from rally leader.
Pietarinen had a great first stage even though started quite early.
