Guys Tanak has done more than won the rally imho. He gave us a glimpse of real domination here, the same Loeb, and Ogier after him, have made us accustomed to. If you except the two french I have never seen a driver, not even Neuville or Latvala in his good day, so sure about his skills and dominance over the competition.
Giving that gap in the PS and staying that cool means he has all the means not only to beat others but even himself, which is a very important challenge in WRC, more than others discipline.

On a side note but not less important we are also in front of a new dominance driving style, if with Loeb cleanliness of driving and safeness of corners changed the rally forever, with Tanak we are going to witness a brand new change. Late breaking are a trend again but his monstruous skills allow him to have still full control of the car, clean lines and grip in the exit. And thank god he's not called Sebastien!

Yaris also had a role on this, especially in Sweden where it has always been fast. Let's see in Mexico if they have solved the issues that were limiting their potential last year. It will be fun if they will

Good points, but I think not the Yaris itself gives him some more advantage, it's more like his freedom not to be in Ogier's shadow. Undoubtedly the fastest car, it still has some problems to solve with robustness and reliability. Probably in M-Sport he would be equal dominant, which he showed glimpses of in 2017. Let's see, interesting season ahead.

Easiest way to sort is it to Paddon back in the car and let him adjust / re-engineer the steering, suspension and transmission for he does have the engineering knowledge and skills to be able to improve the car

Imo the best thing about Tänak was how he drove safely after Suninen dropped. Last year in similar situations he kept setting fastest times and then got into issues (GB, Spain).

Really, Tanak looked unstoppable this weekend, and impossible to beat. Kudos to Lappi for his awesome result!

As for Latvala, this doesn't look too bright for another year running. Mentally he didn't sound to be in such a terrible place at the stage end interviews and he did set some fastest times during the weekend, but he's got a horrible 30 point difference to Tanak in the championship which I don't see him closing realistically it's a shame for him, but Sweden wasn't entirely negative at least. I hope he can take advantage of his road position in Mexico and pull off a 2016.

Well, apart from our egoistic wishes, isn't using abbreviations insult for the person in question in first place? How would some driver react if You tell him You're just an abbreviation?

Tbh I cannot tell the difference between estonian and finnish anthems so I assume it is quite easy for the organizers to play the wrong anthem. Not a really big issue imho
