Back home as well. Had a very nice rally, BCRZ remains one of the best tarmac events around I think, if not the best. Also nice to have met Mirek, PLuto and Hartusvuori (and friends) in person again.

Competition-wise it was a very interesting event as well. It's fair to say there's a new generation of very good Czech drivers coming... Very strong performance from Jakes, who was driving a Fabia with the (soon well-known?) Vancik engine, and with Hankook tyres. Pitty he couldn't take the third podium step, but losing to Sordo with only 0,3s is something to be proud of. Also Filip Mares, the young driver supported by the ASN was very nice to see. Very different driving-style from Jakes, who is a bit all over the place. Mares looked quite strategic in his driving, trying to be as efficient as possible. Pitty he crashed in the end. In R2 the guy who stood out was Cais, who threw away an R2-victory in the last few stages.

I didn't take photos all the time, but here are a few:

Filip Mares on SS Semetin 2.

Stajf's crash on Halenkovice sunday morning, it was the first big braking after the start. After the crash they pushed him back onto his wheels, he re-started the engine only to find out that three wheels were broken...

Mirek Jakes on SS Rajnochovice 1.

Dani Sordo on SS Halenkovice 2.

Martins Sesks on SS Halenkovice 1.

I'm not surprised considering the state of some of the roads on this 'tarmac' rally. Feel sorry for all those poor R2 drivers with just 2WD coping with slimy wet mud and gravel.

Are you suggesting that apart from the difference in sound, this engine also performs better than the customer spec works engine?

Someone said that there was an optional loud exhaust homologated recently but not used by the works team. I don't know myself. I have to find out. There was I think about five noisy Fabias.

Regarding Vančík... He's already quite famous. Cars of BRR, Kresta Racing or TGS already have his engines including NORF WRC2 winning car of Pietarinen. Those are some seriously good teams.

Jakeš's attack on Sordo on the last stage on full-stage onboard!!!

You can see Mareš's car standing at the side of the road roughly in the middle of the stage.
