I understand it this way: There is no datalogger except homologated allowed in R5 and FIA simply considered an onboard camera equipped with an accelerometer as a way to by-pass the rules for collecting the data.

Those are not data from an accelerometer, only GPS.
These cars were going nowhere,fast. Getting rid of them was crucial for the survival of the championship. Group Bs were amazing cars, too. But, having fatal or life threatening accidents at every...
