What a fantastic list! Azores is really an amazing event and everybody wants to run it, no matter how far it is. Besides the quantity of top cars, there’s also a huge quality among top drivers, with a large handful of them being able to fight for the win, including Moura and Magalhães. A great start for this year ERC.
Sousa was the nice surprise in the national field. Due to sponsor issues, in 2016 he announced the end of his career but everybody was hoping to see him back, as he’s still young and hugely talented. He’ll run the whole Azorean series.Rally addict since 1982

It may not be easy for Sousa, as he was away for a while and this is his first rally with the DS; besides, his main target is the Azorean championship, not the ERC. On the other hand he’s more used to a flat out pace than a tactical one and may be tempted to match Moura speed, meaning he could be fighting for the top 5. Anyway, it’s great to have him back. Fingers crossed for him.

Winning the Azores Rallye guarantees much more visibility than winning 10 championships in the Azores. We are facing a "war" between two tobacco companies. Either one wants to win. In the remaining events the visibility is almost nil.
No one questions the speed of Bernardo Sousa but we also know that he´s very inconsistent in terms of results.2009 IRC Pickems Champion
