Was that a race series or a rally series?

That's the rally series. The cars of the better known contenders were a mixture of regional registrations of their local dealers - Pond, Brookes, Sparrow, Rockey(R.I.P. this very month) etc.
The race cars seemed to be a lot of Essex registrations so were probably ex- Ford press cars/demonstrators.
To give the lie to it being a cheap series because of Group 1 spec, Brookes went through 2 (different "AB" Worcestershire registered) cars in the comparatively short time it ran (body falling apart rather than accident damage...).Last edited by RS8V; 31st January 2018 at 20:25.

I've just heard that Eric Jackson (known for his long distance epic drives through Africa and also British Rally Champion 1964), who supplied this car, died yesterday at the age of 93.

Don't know why the original poster bothered.....
The problem is no one will reply to others who post when replies are not acknowledged.

Sometimes I prefer grabbing quick answers from the net. You don't have to ask everything

??
Not quite so. You’re right about the future 208 and Corsa sharing the same platform; they’ll use the new CMP (aka EPM1), inaugurated last year on the DS3 Crossback. The current C3 (Mk III) is still...
