Haven't long got back from Radnor; Yes, the MSA Safety Delegate stopped at Junction/ post 7, (a hairpin left) and behind him was the 00 car; they were there for quite a while 'discussing'. An official asked any of the speccies whether there was a MSA Registered Marshal present, who would like to step in an Marshal that Junction/ post. Fortunately, someone did, (I think his name was Paul) he & a friend both 'signed on'. Official asked for a round of applause for his actions - as the MSA Delegate was keen on cancelling.
Another Marshal appeared about 10-15 minutes later in a 4x4; and eventually after a delay of more than an hour the stage got under way.

After it was completed, and people going back to their cars at about 15:30 - 15:45, we all wondered what time the 2nd run was. Nobody knew.

Seemed most people were making a brew and a bite to eat, and about 16:15-ish a Marshal informed everybody the 2nd run was canceled due to lack of/ no Marshals.....

A shame and hopefully no more cancellations this weekend.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

Just managed the two runs of Shepherdshield today for various reasons but the weather was fantastic and the action great so well worth the trip up from York.
Sad to see the Rothmans striped Manta not make the second run as well on it the first time and the lovely Fisher replica Sierra of Frank Cunningham as well.
Will be interesting to see if Pritchard can keep ahead of the more experienced crews until Monday.

Been an interesting day by all accounts! Unfortunately for Pritchard a drive shaft let go ending his rally and Banner rolled but kept going. Marty McCormack now in front from Robbo. Steve Perez in the Stratos is on the edge of the top 10 with the glorious sounding Stratos.

Sting in the tail tomorrow with forecasts of wintery weather to take over from the sunny but cold conditions of the last couple of days.

Gutted for Pritchard after a very classy drive. He had a good lead and was pegging the gap very nicely.

Managed to do three days of the event and really enjoyed it. Never planned to do Radnor 2 due to the drive north so glad I didn't stick around for that. Not sure anyone was loving how Friday went - will be interesting to see what they do in a couple of years.

What was surprising and I guess quite sad to see was that so many of the stages had no one on the entry checking tickets or taking money. We'd bought a full pass, but managed to drive into four stages on Saturday without having to stop for anyone. Through being short on volunteers or whatever the reason, the organisers were just throwing away money essentially. I'd have no qualms at all about sneaking into a Wales GB stage, but events like the Roger Albert really need support.

Will hopefully have some photos up in a day or two. Now it's back to work...

One of the more spectacular exits. Looks like a Escort MK2 Christmas decoration!

Banner has had an off in SS26 and lost 4 minutes so down to 8th. McCormack now has 2 minutes on Robinson with Chilman in 3rd and close enough to catch him. Anything could still happen!

Sadly it looks as though Perez has dropped out of contention for a top 10 finish in the Stratos after SS27. Believe he is running without 2nd gear and now nursing it to the finish

I was about a half mile away across clear-felled land, heard the crump as he went off and looked up to see a rear screen about 30 feet in the air and no visible car! It was a quick corner and he just ran wide and too fast onto the loose stuff and drifted off, the car dug in and seems to have gone over about 4 times, flattening small trees as it went. Lucky not to be hurt, it was a big one.

Did 3 stages Saturday, both runs through Greskine and Lockerbie service yesterday. Had intended to do Castle O'er and Twiglees but picked up a puncture so had to give them a miss while I changed the wheel for a space saver and then trundled 150 miles down the motorway at 50mph. Still had a brilliant time though, just beginning to sift through the photos...

Yes, I'm not sure about the Friday - did it really work? It may need tweaking a bit - and the competitors will drive any changes, as the organisers do listen to what they want.

Last minute dramas as McCormack temporarily disappeared from the results after SS29! Might just be a comms issue as not reported to have had anything happen in the stage.
