    Silverstone FIA GT Weekend

Looks like an awesome weekend with a great line up. I've already booked my tickets.

Ford Mustangs in GT4, Jag XKR in GT3 and Barwell entering the DBR9s for the main event.

Another sportscar owners club displays and apparently you can also drive a Caterham for 10mins for £20!

    Hi

I think this is my first post on the GT forum - I am an interloper from the touring car forum.

Yup I'm going as well, and looking forward to it. Nigel Mansell is going to be in the Ferrari.

****ing, ****ing ITV! Just found out i can't watch it because damned itv has replaced men and motors with ****ing "itv play" whatever the hell that **** is.

I am so damned pissed off with ITV, i can only get freeview, and i was looking forward to turning on and watching it.

Sorry to hear that, Scuderia ferrari

Personally, I had a terrific day out, probably the best race meeting I've ever experienced!

The racing was terrific in the various GT championships. As always, the highlights were the muscle cars roaring past, especially the introduction of the Ford GT500 Mustangs and the GT90s

I loved the flames that came out of the GT90! :

A pity the Jaguar XKRs failed pre-race inspection, but well done to Apex letting the fans get up close to the cars

Went on the Caterham passenger rides whereby for a tenner you go through a series of cones and doing doughnuts. Absolutely awesome! The torque, grip, pin-point handling is immense!

    Got Mansell's autograph.

Bumped into Anthony Reid and had bit of a chat. He's been talking to teams, notably Jaguar and Aston, though he ideally wants to be in WTCC!

    Good day but one disappointment

Apparantly you had to be part of the BRDC members club to go on the pitroad walkabout, or at least thats what i heard. Alot of people got turned away from it

There was VIP laps scheduled around the same time so I wasn't suprised if you needed a paddock pass of some kind. Experience told me not to bother with the pit-lane walkabout.
