Huge differences among the first 5 drivers. A bit ridiculous...

Using TER thread as it stands longer than national threads:

Rali Vinho Madeira, the 7th event of the Portuguese championship (5th of Madeira series), will be run from next Friday; great entry list and a big fight expected between CPR and CMR top crews and Basso (invited by Hyundai Portugal). Wagemans also there in a 208 R5, after a nice run last year on a R2. As usual, large TV coverage by RTP Madeira.

Not the big fight we were waiting for, still Madeira was a nice rally to follow. Local champ Camacho (Fabia) dominated since the first proper SS. Nunes (DS3) was unable to match Camacho pace and came 2nd. Fontes (C3) was P3, struggling to find a good setup with the new car. Lots of retirements, including Basso on the i20 (transmission). Btw, congrats to RTP Madeira for the TV coverage.

Only one R2 driver did all the TER events this year and one R5 driver did three of four. There were only these two present on Madeira. One with R2 and one with R5. What sort of competition is that?

TER has failed as a rally series but somehow it helps promoting the events. Probably that’s why Ypres, Madeira and Valais organizers are still TER partners.

Btw, it’s a pity the national European rally thread of the forum doesn’t work properly. Is there a chance to have it fixed? If not, why can’t we make a national rally news topic on this (ERC) thread?

I think that Ypres is there because of Alain Penasse.

Why not just start new threads here?

So it seems there are some organisers that saw that this championship is in really bad healt and quit, as Madeira says in this comunicate also Ypres is out, surprinsingly for me there is a spanish event entering, Rallye de Ferrol.
