    2015 Schedule

    2015 Indycar Schedule

    March 8 Brasilia
    March 29 St.Petersburg
    April 12 New Orleans (NOLA)
    April 19 Long Beach
    April 26 Birmingham (Barber)
    May 9 Indy road course
    May 24 Indy 500
    May 30 Detroit
    May 31 Detroit
    June 6 Texas
    June 14 Toronto
    June 27 Fontana
    July 12 Milwaukee Mile
    July 18 Iowa
    August 2 Mid Ohio
    August 23 Pocono
    August 30 Sonoma

Interestingly only one double header. A bit bummed about Fontana, loved it to be the Season finally.

I wouldn't mind seeing MidO go away. The cars outgrew it long ago. It would be nice for Elkhart to reappear. Too bad about Baltimore, the series really needs a mid Atlantic venue - huge population in a (relatively) small area. Still, its not a terrible schedule.

Sonoma is the season finale? Please. I would have liked an oval because their outcomes are less predictable.

Speaking of schedule, if IndyCar is starting its season in Brasilia, it would have been really cool to have Barrichello driving a car, any car.

Won't that Fontana race be awfully hot?

Very hot most likely, and going by the posted tv schedule (4PM Eastern) it's not even a night race

    That's a nicely balanced schedule.

Only having five ovals in an American series is utterly pathetic. Having the finale at Sonoma guarantees the season goes out on a whimper. I love Indycar, but this makes it hard to be optimistic.

You're lucky there are five, Pocono was trying to get out of its contract. I assume IndyCar lowered the sanction fee enough to where the economics works out for the track.

Can you suggest some unused ovals where a decent crowd is likely to show up?

That's the key. It has to be economically feasible for the promoter. They are not charities.
