I have a 5 year old samsung and, same as linni, the app stopped working last year. Before that it was not working perfectly, I could not use all features.
Watching it on a browser is possible but inconvenient because the browser itself is not very good. And you can only get the live picture, no rewatching or anything else.
Right now I am mirroring the picture to TV from my smartphone app. Works perfectly, obvious downside is that I cannot use the phone at the same time. So I have the picture running on my PC as well as backup.

Guys, TV's processors are weak anyways. Recommend to use external players like Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield Pro etc. Much better experience

    Cannot quite confirm.

2014 Samsung top model H8000, WRC app when was still working ran quite good but not excellent. PON connection 200/200 mbps.

2019 Samsung 55" cheapest model on 4G connection 20/10 mbps runs smooth, fast and without any issues at all.

Yes I got great quality that way.

But now I watch WRC All Live 'free' with BT Sport (and no internet lag).

You can still do that with a Chromecast/AppleTV/etc

When I run my maximum setup I have a third device for twitter and forums but sometimes it’s good to just concentrate on the broadcast

    I understand.
But if my setup is running perfectly, why to invent something new?

It still is not as good as an external player with their processing. My tv runs all the apps but it's much snappier and smoother on my Nvidia Shield Pro. My tv is now set to just show the picture and all the processing is done by Shield which is way more powerful than a tv can be. If you like your tv it's fine too but just remember that external media players are offered for a reason.

This advice is given to me first by some tech guys who worked for a service center and I can confirm this with my user experience as for instance with Plex a lot of movies (4K HDR ATMOS etc) are lagging even on my LG OLED's. And you can free a lot of processing power from tv's processor. Just a food for a thought.

    Yes, of course.

Just saying, mine works very well so far and no reason for any improvement.
I have also Roku connected to my TV set, but app runs not worse than the stream.
