Normal service resumed... JK wins qually but on the same points as Loeb.

Final has JK on the front row with Solberg. All 3 Peugeot's make the final on their last outing as a factory team.

    JK wins.
Even so, the sport is crap. Not a patch on what it used to be when the cars had different characteristics. Terrible to watch compared to the 80s / 90s.

Eddie, if you’ve seen the 80s and 90s rallycross, be it on TV or in the flesh, you’ll know most of the cars were very different in terms of driving characteristics and power / power delivery.
I would love nothing more than seeing the series become a world force, but it’s just too sterile as the cars as so perfect, they are so evenly matched in all aspects.
Google British Grand Prix rallycross from Brands hatch and you’ll find it hard to disagree.
An expert in nothing I am, but I know a bit about rallying and I’ve spent a lot of time watching rallycross all over the UK and sometimes into Europe, but honestly, I wouldn’t even go if I was flown there to enjoy the finest hospitality these days.

    Shock news! Motorsport has developed.

What you're saying about rallycross applies virtually across the board in motorsport. F1 cars all look the same, touring cars are virtually one make series, there's little difference between the top cars in rallying, and so on.
You're so beige, you probably think this signature is about someone else.

So what if it has developed?

Rallying is better to watch than it has been for ages.
Rallycross isn't a patch on what it used to be as a spectacle.

Development doesn't mean it's better, or are you trying to argue that it does?

Is that really the case though? I completely agree that the cars aren't nearly as exciting and don't sound even a fraction as good, but all the retro races I watch seem to be pretty tame, certainly no more exciting than races we've had this season.

Edit: BTW I'm not necessarily saying that current crop is better, just questioning whether the 80s were really that good other than having stuff like 6R4s
