    Eh. :\

Waiting for the other shoe to drop when they muck up the Chase points even further.
I'm choosing Joey Logano as my avatar. I feel he is a worthy ally.

I wish they'd just drop the damned chase! Stupid, this is auto racing, not some kind of "stick and ball" sport. Play-offs/eliminations are not needed. As a 50+ year fan of stock car racing, the chase is about the lamest, most stupid think I have ever witnessed, in all my years of fandom!

I cannot believe this. I already was just checking for who won and where my driver finished and this makes me stay away even more.
the drought is over--may there never be another with 115 races.

As a 50+ year. diehard, hardcore fan of NASCAR, I say that I DO NOT LIKE ANY of the things that NASCAR has done or is doing to the sport that I love! I understand that I am not the only one that feels this way either. I'll watch, some, this year, but the race each weekend is no longer "Must see TV" for me. Brainfart Brian France seems to be doing everything that he can to drive me and others away. Be careful Brainfart Brian, you just might succeed! I'll get to the point and don't kid yourself, I'm allot closer to it they you thing, where I will just say, "SCREW IT", and walk away. Once that happens, I will not be back! At that time, I will cease to be a racing fan and will find something else to do with my time, on the weekends!

THAT is what happens when a sport is run by "SUIT'S" instead of FIRESUITS!!!!

I suspect NASCAR's next move will be to make the sport more like boxing: keep the points secret until after the last round.

The "Chase" was a stupid idea and this is even more stupid.

    Re: New Point System

I don't like the new format either, but it certainly does create an interesting scenario where about half of the field could contend to make in the Chase, whether they deserve to or not...

Here's my prediction of the 16 drivers to be in this year's Chase (In order of their car number):

    #2 – Brad Keselowski
    #4 – Kevin Harvick
    #5 – Kasey Kahne
    #11 – Denny Hamlin
    #14 – Tony Stewart
    #15 – Clint Bowyer
    #16 – Greg Biffle
    #18 – Kyle Busch
    #20 – Matt Kenseth
    #22 – Joey Logano
    #24 – Jeff Gordon
    #31 – Ryan Newman
    #41 – Kurt Busch
    #48 – Jimmie Johnson
    #88 – Dale Earnhardt Jr.
    #99 – Carl Edwards

These are probably the guys who should make it in if everything "goes normal".

Guys with an outside shot include Ambrose, Truex Jr., Menard, Stenhouse, McMurray, Vickers, and Dillon. I think Ambrose would have the best shot of these 7 because he could simply snatch a win at Sonoma or Watkins Glen and just stay in the Top 30 and he'll qualify. The other 6 would likely have to rely on consistency and getting a lucky win at a restrictor plate race or at a fuel-mileage race to make the Chase... So that's 23 drivers potentially contending for 16 spots.
