Rally Team Manager Simulation Game (PBBG)

    Hello everyone,

I'd like to introduce you to quite new game, which is still in development/test mode, but we are starting a 3rd test season today and I would like to get help from people who like rally in general just by playing it. The game is FREE, you just need to create an account there.

Basic idea behind the game is to manage virtual rally team, meaning, that player will have to deal with: service park duties (repair/upgrade cars), training sessions (train their driver/co-driver/mechanics), participation in rally events every week and much more. All feedback is more than welcome, because we are very new and not stable yet, but going that direction and hopefully, with your help we will do it much faster.

    Website URL: http://play.dirtrally.net
It's only in English at the moment, but in the future we are planning to have more languages. We already have 120~ active players, who help us to test the game!

I am ready to answer all the questions you may have, so feel free to ask here.

    Thanks,

    Giedrius

Re: Rally Team Manager Simulation Game (PBBG)

“Dirt Rally” – unconventional way to learn about the car sports

The organizers of “Rally Classic” Druskininkai 2013 invite not only to watch live rally but also to become one of the team leaders. “Dirt Rally” is a computer game developed by Lithuanians and seeking to show the society the side of rally which spectators usually do not see.

The idea is supported by the rally professionals

The developer of “Dirt Rally” Giedrius Rimkus presents his work not only as a computer game but also as an educational project. This is due to its structure, which involves the acquaintance with the subtleties of the sports and the development of personal skills. The game initiator claims that he has been attempting to recover as much authenticity as possible, therefore is actively involved in the rally-related events - “Dirt Rally” has recently started to cooperate with the team of “Rally Classic” Druskininkai 2013.

“Dirt Rally” is rally too, just a little different than we are used to. Sportsmen and rally enthusiasts support each attempt to popularize this type of sports and to reveal its subtleties to the interested. I am very glad that we cooperate with our compatriots, who created the tool helping to understand how complex and interesting the leadership in the race team can be”,- says the organizer of “Rally Classic” Druskininkai 2013 Jonas Bal?i?nas.

According to G. Rimkus, usually rally games focus on a pilot’s role, the opportunity to race and the desire to be the first to cross the finish line. “Dirt Rally” is fundamentally different; players develop the team, which they lead afterwards.

“Our player is the team leader. He composes the crew, organises trainings of all members of the team, takes care of the preparation and maintenance of the race car, is in search for sponsors, controls the car settings depending on the specifics of virtual tracks, the weather and other circumstances, decides upon the racing tactics. The interesting thing is that the competitors are real players from different countries”,- says G. Rimkus.

“One game season takes on average four months, during which players participate in 15 races. The rally is held once a week and lasts for three days, just like the “World Rally Championship” races. The main goal of “Dirt Rally” player is to climb on the highest podium, after defeating all opponents in the top “World Class” group”, - explained the developer.

“Dirt Rally” is played online, thus it is free and available at any time, in any convenient location. As G. Rimkus points out, the biggest focus is put on the competition format and the development of a team, therefore the game graphics has not been fully elaborated yet.

The game is available at: http://www.dirtrally.net/
