The CPR is on the move again, this time on the beautiful gravel stages of Rali Terras d'Aboboreira (used during decades on Rally de Portugal), which will be limited to local spectators due to covid restrictions.

The title main contenders, Magalhăes (i20) and Araújo (Fabia) have less than a 10 pts split, promising a big fight for each stage win bonus. Besides the top national aces, Formaux is also there for the rally win. SS1 starts at 14.40 gmt.

Nice fight on Aboboreira; at the end of the first day Fourmaux is leading just 0,3s ahead of Araújo and 1,8s over Teodósio. Magalhăes is P5, 13,9s behind the leader.

Why has Fourmaux received 2 min of penalties?? He would have eaisly won the event without this penalty...

A 2m penalty, due to an early entry on a control, took Formaux away from Rali Terras d'Aboboreira lead, allowing Araújo to get the win. Araújo is now leading the series as Magalhăes was only P4 at the event. Teodósio arrived second ahead of the young Correia, that surprisingly was able to get his first CPR podium. Nunes (208 R2) got 2wd win while Lopes (Evo IX) was the best N4. In two weeks, the CPR title will be decided on the last round, Rali Casinos do Algarve.

Just one question "by the way" regarding Rally Terras D'Aboboreira: there was also one Porsche 911 GT3 (Nb.57), where the hell did the team found gravel suspension and appropriate tyres, rims & small breaks for 911?? And who is this driver?

As Tuga said, Vallejo does the service for him, and he run spanish gravel championship in 2018 and 2019 with the GT3

That's the Tuthill developed package, isn't it? https://www.tuthillporsche.com/blog/...allejo-racing/ Was supposed to appear at Rally GB in 2014, but the FIA wouldn't homologate their gravel kit: https://www.tuthillporsche.com/blog/...sche-rally-gb/

Huge shame as it would have been quite a spectacle on the mud! It looked to be quite a handful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APqMUS2J-Q4 There also used to be a Chris Harris video on You Tube with external shots, but bizarrely the BBC claimed it when he joined Top Gear... I've always wondered what might have been had the FIA accepted it.

Huge congrats to Pedro Antunes, co-driver Pedro Alves and PT Racing team for winning this year Peugeot Rally Cup Iberica! They took the win in the last event (Rally La Nucia), after an epic fight with main rivals Cachon/Lopez. As PRCI champion, Antunes will be at the wheel of a C3 R5 next year. Well done!

With cancellation of Rallye Casinos do Algarve, Portuguese championship is over.

Armindo Araújo and Luís Ramalho are champions (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo).
