    FIA locations choices ??

FIA in my opinions makes a lot of strange choices in where they arranges rallies at WRC and ERC level.

Their thinking of spreading the gospel probably looks good in theory, but does not work in practical life.
To make a good event you need more than great scenery, you need a great start-list, and tough fights in several classes.

We have many rallies in those two championships, that will have the few top drivers in the top class, and thats it.

pls FIA understand that rally is not racing. It is not just the factories that makes this happen. In F1 they move as a pack, and it does not make a difference where they go, the racing experience is still almost the same. (If Tilke has not made a boring secure track)

But rally is depending on so much more to be a hot hit, and the gang apart from the paid drivers does not go to Canary Islands or Mexico, they can not afford it. Clean and simple.

FIA - pls rethink the policy of picking out events to 'emerging markets', pick the ones can fill the field with enough amateurs to give us and them a good show!

Does everyone here agree with me, since it is quiet?

Or do you think the startlist in Canaries and Mexico are ok, and FIA has made all the right choices in this issue?

No I actually do not agree with you because it's a more complex story than you have wrote in your post. Remember Rally Norway's financial problems?
I agree that starting list could be better different locations in Europe but financial reasons and politics are a big part of the game.

I cannot agree - e.g. Canaries can show the best entry list of all ERC runs this year so far.

    For Mexico, that´s another case.

In number or quality? Arguable I'd say since Janner and Ventspils had about the same number of serious competitors and the total entry wasn't much different. The Canaries field will look what it is, very sparse, when we see the entry for Ypres, Corsica etc. The first 2 rallies were 'specialist' (ice and snow) Canaries is expensive for the private teams, just fantastic because of 1 driver however
Kris Meeke got fired -PSG so terrified they quit!

Canaries truly deserve to be in ERC. It has traditions, lots of fans and stunning roads which are just incomparable with many other "famous" events on the continent.

The number and quality of entries depend on other things in FIA government, not the particular event.
