    I think todays WRC is on a level that is so equal between cars and drivers, that surfaces and reliability on the cars are the deciders of the whole championship...

    It´s not anymore so much about drivers doing heroic performances than how much rolling gravel there is...

    Well, car reliability was originally the basis of rallying. Driver speed became a thing then in the 80's.

    Even with a good road position, you need to bring the car to the finish. We've also seen drivers win gravel rallies first on the road.

    For sure. But you always point at the exception of rules.

    In general it´s been much closer lately, and as said rallies decides more of position and reliability... (even though cars in the past broke down more often, mostly because of drivers handling...)

    This year Neuville won Argentina and Tänak Finland first on the road. In Mexico Tänak was second and in Portugal Ogier third. Neuville retired Chile while being third.
