    detroit question

I have a question for those who have attended the detroit gp on belle isle before. Is it easy to get to all parts of the track from the inside of the track as at many road courses. The only track I have any experience to go for easy access is MidOhio. It appears from the track map some areas are easy to get too but other areas I am not sure. I have grandstand seats in grandstand 3 which has a great view down the front straight at the cars comming at you and also into the pits. Just wondering what the rest of the track is like.

Windsor would be where I would stay for obvious reasons of nationality..lol. Bring your passport because that is a border, and US Customs requires a Passport or secure form of ID (NEXUS/FAST card or Incrpited Driver's Licence). I suggest Caesar's Windsor since they are hurting for clientele and have some great deals on.

well decided to stay in detroit, by the river and close to the track. Didn't want to spend 100 for a passport. Casino's are close as well as coamerica park(yankees are in town that weekend) and who knows the wings might have a playoff game friday night. Of course with Mytch Ryder and the Detroit wheels Friday night I will probably stay at the track late. Could be an interesting weekend , never been to a road race even back in the days of the Columbus 500.

Now there's a fond memory from the past. Loved going to the Columbus 500.

Downtown Detroit isn't too bad....but Windsor is far safer..but I could see why 100 bucks for a passport would bother you except you need it pretty much to board any international flight or to cross any border....
