It had been a great weekend, so good to see the bikes back but the tragic news really does put a dampener on proceedings, leaves me with a heavy heart. R.I.P. Oscar McIntyre, taken before your time but died living the dream.

Carlos Checa was showing them the way and was being pressured by Biaggi when he high-sided and went for a slide leaving Biaggi to go on and win by a comfortable margin from Melandri on the BM and Guintoli.
Track temperatures were high and resulted in a few problems with tyre wear

The lack-lustre performance of the Suzukis is a bit of a worry.

Checa bounced back in race 2 whereas Biaggi had an off track excursion on lap 1 and went to the back of the field but fought back with a masterful display of riding and hauled himself up to finish second.

A really gutsy effort by Haslam riding with that leg injury so soon after the operation..
