Who cares about Sweden, see Saab has finally gone kaput.

If it has anything to do with the birth of Christ then it is Christmas - not winterville or any other PC garbage

If we wanted to recognize the birth of Christ, we would be celebrating in Novemver... or September by some historical accounts.
But that is perhaps subject to a suggested new thread

Merry Christmas to all and God bless us everyone.

The Parade magazine offered in many large city Sunday newspapers did a variation of the Christmas Carol using parts of the story line from many recent movies.
    It was actually rather fascinating.
If your paper has it, it is worth reading.

The Swedish Jul is more related to the old Norse tradition in which the winter solstice is celebrated since it means
the beginning of the return of the light. This is celebrated by having a large party (Blót) which include a large julboard
with plenty of various food-dishes. Sure the Christian church have merged their x-mas with the Jul butup here
its still more jul then Christmas.

Indeed the Christian Christmas is the same festival as the winter solstice. As the occasion was converted for the purpose. The reality is that nobody is even sure what year Jesus was born, never mind the time of year and certainly not an exact date.
