It was during last Tänak-driven-silly-season in 2019. There are only few payable seats available, Jouhki and Märtin/Tänak are competitores to find best options and fill them. Maybe something else, I don't know - probably finns can give more info here. It was just my brainstorm potential influencers.

This verbal war between Jouhki and Tänak/Märtin has been going on quite a while actually. And for me it seems that the initiator has always been Jouhki who publicly or anonymously tells/leaks something bad about them to the media. Maybe he hasn't got over that he didn't get Tänak under his wing in the beginning of Tänak's career when he had a chance. Jouhki's last champion before Rovanperä was Mäkinen and maybe he was under some mental pressure from himself. Now, when he has Rovanperä, maybe he is afraid and leaking some bad things about Tänak to media. Can't blame him, who wouldn't be afraid if there is a chance of Tänak joining Rovanperä in Toyota.

That Ilta-Sanomat piece sounds like someone has been bought some campaign piece in that newspaper. Also they write that Tänak/Märtin have unheard arrogancy but doesn't give any concrete examples. Also, which is to me very funny as they blame Tänak for unheard of straightforwardness and that he speaks his mind unfiltered, which to me sounds more like a good thing but in this piece it's very bad . I guess in the West they have gotten so used to political correctness that speaking your mind is such a terrbile thing. And coming from finns that is even more funnier bcs most of the finns I know have no-BS no-fake-correctness attitude.
Behind that piece I see Jouhki's hairy hand but whatever the decision is to be, it's out of finns hands and if Akio wants certain drivers in the team then so it will be. We just have to wait and see.

I think Ott is nice and different character in the sport. It is good to have different kinda of people and not all the same.

In 2021 it was announced that both Neuville and Tanäk sign new two year deals with Hyundai. So there was probably a exit clause in there, anybody got any details regarding this?

It was even said to be "multi-year contracts" when it was announced, at least for Neuville but the understanding was that both had similar contracts. But it turns out that Tänak had an exit clause there which I think was a smart move considering the troubles he had in the past two years. Maybe it was just 1+1 or 1+2 years with driver option so he could evaluate how he would like to continue.

These contracts could be very complicated. Maybe a clause about the car performance level, or maybe something that if they fail to win the manu title, he is free to go (since the announcement came right after Toyota secured the title)

Possible the split was mutually agreed and not in any terms.
Meeke had a big gap to Rossel after stage 3 (20 sec) at stage 4 had a puncture and now the gap to Rossel is just 2 sec Gryazin strangely slow, anybody now why?...
