You are missing the point. Even if the FIA makes the R5 category the top one, it would be just a matter of months before all the brands involved start to make the cars expensive again. We have a very good example with the new WRC cars. From a privateer point of view running a WRC 2000T or a WRC 1600T is virtually the same. You know see that you can run a top WRC 2000T (C4) in regional events for much cheaper price. The problem is way beyond the cost of cars.

You're right about that indeed... FIA should already put a solid price on every part itself to prevent that, and that's not realistic anymore...
