Thanks for posting.
I hope the Protons reach the finish. Times looking good: Atko in the lead with almost 30secs margin after 4 stages. Alister having problems, lost over a minute on this stage and 3 mins in stage 3?Post your own splits on the net: find RallyStopwatch on the Google Play Store.

Proton do indeed seem to have made a step on performance; I am sure they were struggling even to beat this opposition last year. Seems like McRae has had some mechanical problems or punctures though?

I'm just wondering why on some stages they were beaten by Evo X by seconds while on other stages Chris could lead with a good 20-30 seconds off his nearest competitor.
Here's SS01 by the way.

Apparently McRae's car was overheating due to grass in front of the radiator:

I'm really pleased for Proton. They definitely made a step in performance and reliability here. Looks like both drivers were told to "hold station" on leg 2 and took it pretty easy.
As I think Atkinson pointed out, as well as giving better traction the better dampers transmit less shocks to the rest of the car - which has maybe helped the reliability.

Progress is here..
Did Jan Solans get 3 points for his 8th place at the end of saturday? Wikipedia and WRC site shows he didn't, eWRC shows he did.
