Team Halfords
I've obviously missed something but could someone explain what this means from the BTCC.NET entry list news, please?
No./Driver (NAT), Team, Car, Type
1. Matt Neal (GBR), Team Halfords, Honda Civic, Super 2000
52. Gordon Shedden (GBR), Team Halfords, Honda Civic, Super 2000
* Registered for the BTCC Manufacturers Championship
All others registered for the BTCC Independents Championship, with the exception of cars 1 & 52

It means Neal, Shedden and Team Halfords won't be racing for Independent titles. However, neither will they be representing Honda in the Manufacturers championship.

Neal and Shedden can still (and no doubt will) go for the driver's title, and Team Halfords will be going for the Team's title as well. Toca obviously feel they don't qualify for "Independent" status this year, but neither have Honda paid up to be represented as an official manufacturer.

They're in the same limbo status that the Rouse Nissans found themselves in during 1996. Too much factory support to be an independent but the manufacturer not willing to stump up the cash to be a manufacturer entry.

Rather like Tom Coronell in WTCC too
It was on qualifying stage, he rolled the car and it was said that he won't be able to start the rally. But team managed to repair the car and he did start and dominated drivers like Rossel, Gryazin...
