Unhappy Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart

Sad news that Captain Beefheart has died, whilst his music may not have been to everyone's taste he had a cult following. He turned to painting in the early 1980's

goes off to dig out my vinyl copy of "Trout Mask Replica" and wind up the old but dandy turntable...........

In the early 70's Frank Zappa and the Captain were gods in S.Cal, I saw them at Royce Hall on the UCLA Campus.

A huge loss, one of the most creative minds of the late 60's and early 70's.
