Lavanttal rally is finished, Hermann Neubauer won again. Until 7th stage he was in battle with N.Mayr-Melnhof, but than Melnhof suffered a puncture and lost over a minute. With this the battle for the lead was ended, but on the other hand Melnhof had a serious fight for the second place with the younger of the Wagner brothers, Julian. At the end Julian managed to overtake Melnhof for less than three seconds.
I must point out that Julian is progressing with huge steps, this was his (correct me if I'm wrong..) third apperiance in the R5 car and already fighting for the podium.
    Final results:
    1. Neubauer
    2. J.Wagner +40,8
    3. N.Mayer-Melnhof +43,5
    4. S.Wagner +1:24,1
    5. K.Klausz +3:44,8
    6. R.Turk +5:25,8
    7. J.Keferböck +5:35,2

Entry list for the first round of Slowenian championship:

    http://rallyvipavskadolina.com/tekmovalci/

I must admit that for our situation this is a very solid entry list. Biggest surprise: our multiple champion Humar with Fabia R5. IMHO everything except a victory would be for him a disappointment.
And I'm back again as a codriver in the most spectacular way-with the RWD!!

The Miskolc Rally, 2nd round of the Hungarian Championship, finished yesterday. It was a one-day event, but with bad weather having just arrived, it made the morning pass over the stages very tricky, and so many crews have retired. In the end, Vincze won, but not too convincingly, as he traded places with Turán during the event, but eventually won after Turán's Fiesta had a slight misfire. Németh finished 3rd (his best ever result) in a Fabia. Velenczei in the C3 looked set to be the 3rd, but had to change a puncture on a stage and lost 2,5 minutes, but won 3 of the last 4 stages and finished 7th.

    Results:
    1. Vincze-Bacigál, Skoda Fabia R5 1:21:13.7
    2. Turán-Bagaméri, Ford Fiesta R5 +14.6
    3. Németh-Szabó, Skoda Fabia R5 +1:28.2
    4. Balogh-Holczer, Skoda Fabia R5 +1:46.4
    5. Dudás-Thóth, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX 2:51.1
    6. Trencsényi-Verba, Skoda Fabia R5 +2:58.7
    7. Velenczei-Zsiros, Citroën C3 R5 +3:06.3
    8. Osváth-Papp, Skoda Fabia R5 +3:24.2
    9. Lencse-Kovács, Ford Fiesta R5 +3:45.6
    10. Maricsek-Bán, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX R4 +3:47.6

Notable retirements: Hadik (mechanical), Ollé (crash), Bodolai (crash), ifj. Kiss (crash).

Rally Vipavska dolina (1st round for Slovenian championship) finished on Saturday late in the night. About overall winner-Rok Turk was very convincing, the victory was never in doubt....when he had a puncture, Humar took the lead, but unfortunately Humar already on the next stage hit the fence on the bridge and retired (two other crew retired on the same spot; very ''attractive'' crashes...). Biggest surprise Tim Novak with small Opel Adam R2, finished on 4th place!!

    https://www.ewrc-results.com/final/5...a-dolina-2019/

The weather conditions were very variable (dry/rain/fog), the lottery for the suitable tyres was present whole day.....

About us: we lost huge amount of time in the first part because of the rain (sun in the service, huge rainfall on the first Saturday stage..), but in the afternoon we attacked and in the end we were fastest RWD crew in the finish. A lot of power-slides and sideways, huge smiles on the faces, BMW is a real ''driver'' car....

Second rally for Slovenian championship (rally Velenje) just finished. It is hard to find appropriate words to describe the overall winner-Boštjan Avbelj.
Avbelj won the event in a very dominate way, winning most of stages. But the catch is in a fact that Avbelj hasn't drove single rally in his life!! Let a alone in a R5 car! He has a huge expirience from circuit racing (eg.Italian Clio cup), but this is worthless when you seat in a Fabia R5 for the 1st time on the rally stage.
This victory also puts a huge credibility on our championship, if somebody in his first apperiance wins overall clasification.....Again: huge respect to Avbelj, this is science fiction. I don't know if something similar ever happened around Europe in let say last 10-15 years....
    Final classification:
    Avbelj (Fabia R5)
    Hadik (Fiesta R5) +39
    Turk (i20) +50
    Kiss (Fabia R5) + 01:14
    Fogasy (Fiesta R5) + 01:43

I hope Avbelj finds some €€€€ to start another event.
