That just sucks. Yes he was doing what he loved and living life to the fullest, blah, blah, blah, but for a 13 year old to die is just incredibly sad. Condolences to his family and friends.

Sorry to read this. Being the father of a little fella who is just learning to ride his bicycle and is mad keen on helping his dad fettle the track bike, I felt a small twinge of the loss the Lenz family must be feeling. As a rider and try-hard track day enthusiast I always get a bit of a cautionary feeling when it comes to my boy and letting him follow his dad's footsteps onto a motorbike, particularly when news like this tragedy crops up.
I know however, that wrapping them in cotton wool is not the answer, but that instinct is very strong. The best we can hope for is to show them the way look at things with both eyes open and hopefully they will develop into young men and women with strength of character and the ability to recognise danger for what it is, not something to be cheated.
Ok, enough rambling.
My deepest sympathy to the Lenz family.
