    Braces

I'm building some shelves for the garage and really need some sort of brace to prevent them from buckling under the weight of my massive tools.

    Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean.
If you want to stop the legs buckling then you've got to reduce the free length of the leg by cross and diagonal bracing. Or use bigger timber.
If you mean the shelves themselves then increaase the number of supports to reduce the span of the shelves. Or screw and glue battens under the shelves to stiffen them.
