Thanks - actually it was 1977 and just like the Brawn it won its first grand prix - Argentina. I remember this race well, as well as the Monaco GP where Jody won his first Monte Carlo grand prix.

Jody started in 11th place in Bueno Aires, worked his way up taking the lead with 6 laps to go and credited his exceptional physical fitness for the win. Second placed driver Carlos Pace in the Brabham-Alfa Romeo led but at the end was just pushed to the limit by Jody and gave way totally exhausted.

It was an extremely exciting day.

Jody was one of the pioneers in motor racing where fitness was concerned and he won the European superfit competition three times competing against olympic athletes.

    Lovely photo :-]

Jody is my alltime favorite driver, and as a kid, I was so surprised when he announced he was leaving Tyrrell and joining a brand new team - but with Posethwaite as the designer the potential for success was there because he also designed the Hesketh.

Could that be Harvey Poselthwaite in the picture with Jody? Looks like him.
