    I DONT want to strat the "should NASCAR use rain tires" with this question, but I do want to know the answer.....

    Are the rain tires still an "available option" for the NW series? IE, if it rains, will the race run as per last year with a red flag period to change tires and add wipers? Or, will they (for example) postpone the race till later in the day/Monday?

    There should be information later this week when the Goodyear Tire Notes are published.

    I'm reasonably sure they will have rain tires, if needed. They had the tires at Watkins Glen but didn't use them. It's a tight schedule with GrandAm and Nascar Canada, so I'm sure it was planed with the expectation of rain tires.

    Not only did they have rain tires at Watkins Glen, they had NEW rain tires.
