Half points award
For my poor knowledge of F1 in the past, has ever been awarded previously half point system other than Malaysian GP last weekend as the result of race stopped due to heavy rain or any unexpected incident?.
I don't think drivers drive the car halfheartedly, the race was stopped for force majeure if we can't categorize it consequence of twilight race. Teams didn't spend half of money than if it's a full race to mobilize the cars and all of the crew. They might only save some fuel for the shorter race, but would it make too much sense.
Drivers finished at point position awarded half points proportionally, but it gives the winner slightly disadvantage as it gives smaller points difference with driver behind. It just doesn't look common unless the rules and regulation indicating this system.

I wonder if Bernie had his "Medals" idea in place if the drivers would have received "half-medals?"
